About

Representation in society is essential in shaping perceptions of any group, culture or ethnicity. From the baby boomers to the millenials, each generation is filled with stereotypes and generalizations that are inflicted upon everyone born during that certain time. In order to fight against these false perceptions, we decided to ask people in 2018 how they feel about how the media represents their age group.
Perception is a television documentary series that explores the realms of each generation and how they are represented in society today. Ranging from the ages of 4 to 90, we asked people of all ages how they feel their generation is portrayed in the modern world, as well as their views on social media, and what they feel is in store for the future.

From tears of sadness to tears of laughter, this series will connect viewers with the cast, in which we hope that they will then advocate for more diverse and truthful representation of these groups. Collectively, we can come together as a whole to ensure that these tropes are broken and help shape a better future.

Each episode exhibits one age group, each one being approximately 30 minutes long. Stay tuned for the release of Perception on July 8th on Netflix to hear the opinions of those misrepresented in society today.
